Everyone has been wondering exactly what Green Mountain's response will be when two of their patents on components of their K-Cup packs expire this September, this morning, we got an answer to what at least one of their responses will be - Green Mountain Coffee Roasters is bringing back beloved Diedrich Coffee K-Cup Packs, and they will be "value priced."
This September, Green Mountain will bring back two Diedrich favorites, and introduce two more, and they will all be available at Shoffee.com.
Here is what you can look forward to next month:
Diedrich Morning Edition (Medium Roast) - A bright wake-me-up for breakfast or a crisp, clean finish to any meal.
Diedrich Rio Blend (Medium Roast Coffee) - A smooth, creamy body gets a bit of South American spiciness in this warm, hearty blend. A nicely balanced cup with hints of raisin and cocoa.
Diedrich French Roast (Dark Roast Coffee) - A dark roast notable for a toasty aroma coupled with a syrupy body, molasses taste and pleasant finish.
Diedrich Morning Edition Decaf (Medium Roast Coffee) - This full roast coffee delivers creamy vanilla sweetness and a hearty finish. It's great for waking up to in the morning, even without the caffeine.
Before this announcement, we had figured that Eight O'Clock Coffee would be GMCR's long-rumored "value brand" Keurig K-Cup, but we are pleasantly surprised to find out that the Diedrich brand will fill this niche.
Now that you've read this post all the way through, we're ready to spill the beans on what this "value" line of Keurig K-Cups means to you. As a Keurig user, you should see a savings of about $0.10 per cup, a big difference from the way we saw coffee prices go a few years back.
